Bereavement Support Group
Begin Your Journey Through Bereavement with Support

Programs held each Spring and fall.

These classes offers an opportunity to meet in a confidential manner, learn more about the grief process, and share your own grief. This seven-week educational class is offered by Grinnell Regional Hospice. It is free but we ask that interested participants to pre-register. Meet and Eat Bereavement Support
First Sunday of each month, 5 to 7 p.m., St. Francis Manor's Tenplex activity room, 900 Orchard Dr., Grinnell

This bereavement support group provides social opportunities for widows and widowers. Individuals gather for a meal and share experiences. The group gathers on the first Sunday of each month, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Postels Community Health Park, 807 Broad St., Grinnell, unless otherwise noted. The Meet and Eat Group will meet on Sundays. For information e-mail or call 641-236-2584.

Diabetes Daily Living
Second Monday of each month, 7 p.m., Tomasek Conference Center, GRMC

This support group provides education and social support for persons with diabetes and their families. Each month the group enjoys a program from a guest speaker as well as time to discuss current issues as well as successes and challenges. Health For Life
Third Monday of each month, 1:30 to 3 p.m., St. Francis Manor’s Tenplex Room, 900 Orchard Dr., Grinnell.

Join the support group for family members and patients who live with Alzheimer’s disease, cardiac disorders, pulmonary diseases, and stroke. The gathering includes a special speaker. Call 641-236-2411 or e-mail crstaff@grmc.us for more information.

Grinnell Bariatric Surgery Patients Support Group
Monthly Meetings on the Fourth Saturday Every Month except January and December, 9–11 a.m., Tomasek Conference Center, GRMC

Meetings are held on Saturday to accommodate participants who have longer drives. This allows for any of you who want to socialize together to be able to go and do as you please after the meeting. New friendships are formed. You may leave to have lunch or to go for a walk in a park together. These meetings are for GRMC patients and their partners/family, both preop and post-op. At the end of each meeting there will be a box where you can submit ideas about anything you would like to see added to the support meeting.

Ostomy Care
Bimonthly, Second Thursday, 7 p.m., Location alternates between Tomasek Conference Center at GRMC and Skiff Medical Center

The goal of this group is to provide educational programs that benefit ostomates and their families. It may also include social opportunities and support by those who face same challenges. Call Joyce Otto at 641-236-2544 for information on the group and the next meeting date and location.
